Nursing the Wounds of Christ
Are you drawn to care for those who are ill? Have you ever thought about being a nurse? Would you like to be a registered nurse (RN), a licensed practical nurse (LPN) or a nurse practitioner (NP)? What is the difference? How is a nurse different from a medical assistant? What is the role of a nurse in the medical care team? Do you always have to obey orders from a doctor? How does your Catholic faith play a part in your role as a nurse? As a young, inspirational RN, Erin will answer your questions about the nursing field, share insights on the essence of nursing as encounters with Christ, and discuss the rewards and challenges of being a Catholic nurse and mother of three beautiful children.
Originally from Colorado, Erin is a registered nurse with a Bachelors in Nursing from Seattle University. She is married to her wonderful husband, William, who is a Seattle Police Officer. Erin is passionate about medicine, especially nursing. Her experiences include working as a clinic nurse assisting with outpatient surgeries and triage until 2011, when she discerned a call to be home full time with her children, where she still utilizes her nursing degree very much with three active children. Erin is also passionate about distance running, especially the half marathon and she loves training for different races around the Seattle area.
